Happy April, #HashtagLunchbag community! The word of the month is “Gratitude” and we’re grateful to be a part of this team of doers. So far, there are #HashtagLunchbag events scheduled in 7 states and 12 cities across the country, from New York to California we’ll be handing out food and love to those in need.

In January of this year, Veronica Gaitán, writing for How Housing Matters, examined homelessness trends from 2017 and concluded that "…continued state and local engagement to combat homelessness will be critical in 2018.” We’re thankful to see so many people engaged in the mission of #HashtagLunchbag and the Living Through Giving Foundation which is to ‘empower humanity with the tools to create & benefit from organized acts of love’.

There are meetings held every month, across the globe, to discuss, and try to find solutions for, the issue of homelessness. At #HashtagLunchbag, we wish to raise awareness for the humanity behind the cause. We are humbled by the efforts of our #HashtagLunchbag community: decorating lunch bags and filling them with handwritten love notes and food and then delivering them in person with smiles, handshakes, high five, and hugs.

We have found four opportunities across the country this April for you to attend - symposiums and summits designed to combat homelessness.

We encourage you to continue attending and hosting #HashtagLunchbag events in your communities until the issue of homelessness is solved there will be people on our streets, hungry for food, and hungry for hope and love.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead
