This past weekend, Flint, MI hosted their first #HashtagLunchbag event for 2017. The Flint chapter came together and successfully made over 600 lunches for those in need in their city. This event marks the third year that #HashtagLunchbag has had a presence in Flint, MI and we couldn't be more proud of the work the team on the ground is doing.
The lunches from this event went to Local 432 and then directly into the community.
"I was able to make a difference and give back. You know, who knows, I might need someone to help me with a sack lunch one day as well. So you know, you impact others by giving out and giving back, it's love," said Phillip Banks, a volunteer.
"It's love" couldn't be more correct with what we hope to spread via #HashtagLunchbag. Through the simple act of handing out lunches and writing love notes, every chapter globally is actively spreading love in their communities. The team was also featured in their local news for their efforts. Keep up the great work team Flint! Check them out at @hashtaglunchbagflint on Instagram.
