Every March thousands of people make their way to Austin, TX for SXSW and this year we joined the fun as part of a dinner series with Don Julio and The Infatuation.

#HashtagLunchbag partnered up as the charity of choice for Don Julio and The Infatuation for a six part dinner series that benefits and highlights the work we’re doing. The series launched in NYC earlier this year and the next stop was SXSW. The dinner series is a great way to introduce #HashtagLunchbag to people who don’t know us yet and to also involve our local chapters (where possible) to participate in the dinners. The dinner series will also be kindly making a donation to help support our global programming efforts.

Each dinner takes place in a new city and features a new chef. After the influencer dinner the chef makes lunches that go out to those in need in the local community. At each dinner attendees have the opportunity to write love notes that will go into those lunches and they also have the ability to donate.

We don’t have a chapter in Austin (yet!) but some folks from our Houston chapter were able to come out and enjoy the dinner and talk to people about the work they are doing:

To top off a great event, we showed up in Vogue.com coverage! Actress Eiza González attended the dinner and included writing a love note as part of her “inside peek” feature. We’re honored to be included, to say the very least.

Two down and four more to go with the dinner series and we can’t wait to see how the rest go. Great people, amazing food and fantastic vibes. We couldn't be happier to be involved.
