We may be biased, but here at #HashtagLunchbag, we love a strong grassroots movement, and that includes our friends over at the Movember Foundation.
We may be biased, but here at #HashtagLunchbag, we love a strong grassroots movement, and that includes our friends over at the Movember Foundation. If you aren’t familiar with Movember, they are the only global charity solely focused on men’s health, raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.
Through their work they’ve raised over $770 million and helped fund over 1,300 breakthrough men’s health projects in 21 countries. Due to their efforts, by 2030 they hope to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%. That is AMAZING to say the least.
Recently they hosted a #HashtagLunchbag event where their internal team made 100 lunches that were delivered to New Directions for Veterans at the VA facility in Westwood. This facility provides transitional housing and mental health services for vets - something Movember passionately supports.
"This was our best team event yet! Having the opportunity to have fun, while doing good (Movember's motto) is always exciting and so rewarding." – Erica Graham, Head of US Partnerships at Movember Foundation
“I’ve had the privilege of attending a couple of the #HashtagLunchbag events at The Parlor, so I was beyond pumped to get the Movember office involved. Giving back to the community is at the core of what we do, and we were happy to be of service and to be a part of this movement. Bottom line…we love what #HashtagLunchbag has cooking’! – JJ Owen, Director of Development at Movember Foundation
It’s awesome to see this team take time from their daily work schedule of giving to host a #HashtagLunchbag event. Now that is a true example of living through giving!
